Burn to Shine 6 – Atlanta, GA
“Whether you look at it as a profound meditation on impermanence or just a collection of sweet, unique live performances, the Burn to Shine series is a pretty wonderful thing.”
– Pitchfork
After being delayed for nearly a decade, the sixth installment of our Burn to Shine film series will finally see the light of day. The film was curated by Lee Tesche of Algiers and was shot on a brutally humid southern day in the summer of 2007 in a blank single-family home in a rapidly changing part of East Atlanta.
The premise for the films are beautifully simple. Someone from the local music scene in each city asks their friends to perform one song in a house doomed to be destroyed. The film serves as a time capsule of that scene on that particular day in that particular city, and as an epitaph for the building the performances take place in.

All proceeds will go to Lost and Found Youth (http://lnfy.org/), who provide help for LGBT runaway youth in ATL.
Thanks!
